1937 Professor Tamezo Mori sent in his report about the Jindo
May 3, 1938 Jindo is made Chosun Nature Treasure No. 53
July 1939 During the registration judgement, there were 650 qualified jindos within Jindo county (probably the whole island)
November 1939 Number of registered dogs decreased to 313.
August 1, 1940 - 1945 Japanese goverment make new laws prohibiting export/import and Jindos were 'completely' protected (excluding exports by high-class Japanese).  Punishment was a frightful 500 yens and imprisonment.
1945 Liberation of Korea
1952 By orders of president Lee, Sng-Mahn, GoonGyoYookChung (roughly, county administration office of education) made a jindo-dog protection regulations and began judgement. 

Ironically this boosted exportation of Jindo dogs

1962 By establishing and officially announcing cultural assets' protection laws, jindo dogs became designated as the Republic of Korea Preservation of Cultural Assets Act No. 53
1963 Jindo county has undertaken GoonGyoYookChung duties and carried a research on the actual condition and selected 730 out of 13683 dogs
1967 Standard for the Jindo dog was stipulated.  White- and yellow-furred dogs encouraged.
1969 By a newly modified text of the law, Jindo BoYook Union (*association, boyook is like 'bringing up'/'nurture') was made/started and research results showed breeding number of dogs within the county was 3366 and registered 2568 from it.

April 8, 1982 Registered by the Federation of Cynologique Internationale (FCI)
1994 Estimated that there are 30, 000 purebred native Korean dogs which can be called Jindo dog.  Of these, about 10,000 are on Jindo.  About 4,400 dogs there are registered as standard Jindo dogs and about 1,230 are registered as suprior purebred Jindo dogs. 
October 16, 1994 Recognized as a valid origin of standard by FCI
March 9-10, 1996 Became FCI Standard No. 334
January 1, 1998 Recognized by the United Kennel Club (UKC) in the United States.
February 28, 1998 Amendments of the Korean Preservation Act takes effect, allowing other Jindo coat colors to be protected and allowing transfers of purebred Jindos back to Jindo island. 
2002 First six Jindos imported in the United Kingdom with the help of Samsung.
March 2003 First Jindo appears at a booth at the Crufts Dog show in the United Kingdom.
November 9, 2004 FCI Standard No. 334 revised.
May 19, 2005 The Jindo is registered with The Kennel Club in the United Kingdom
July 10, 2005 Jindo receive full status with the FCI, thereby allowed to compete in FCI shows.
Sept. 21, 2005 Jindo recognized by the Kennel Club in the United Kingdom under the Utility Group.
